Dennis R. Novak, M.D.

     With undergraduate and graduate education in New York, Dr. Novak earned a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and his Medical Degree at State University of New York, Upstate Medical Center.  He did his postgraduate Residency training in Internal Medicine at University of California, Irvine Medical Center, where he also completed his Pulmonary Fellowship.  As Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine, Dr. Novak continued his work at University of California, Irvine, teaching and advising pulmonary fellows, medical residents, and medical students.

     In addition to fiberoptic bronchoscopy, Dr. Novak trained in electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound.

      Dr. Novak has practiced Pulmonary Medicine in Newport Beach since 1979, maintaining hospital privileges exclusively at Hoag Memorial Presbyterian.  He has chaired and served on numerous committees including Critical Care, Pulmonary, Internal Medicine Core, Cancer Committee and Chart Review.  Dr. Novak was Board Certified in Internal Medicine in 1977, in Pulmonary Disease in 1980, and in Critical Care in 1987.  He is a recipient of the Physician's Recognition Award from the American Medical Association.  Apart from his publications and clinical research, Dr. Novak is a member of the American College of Physicians and is a Fellow of the College of Chest Physicians. 

     In his spare time, Dr. Novak enjoys golf and spending time with his family.
